TABLE LAMP XII
Lamp is made of senegalese calabash.
White carvings are deeper layer of white wood which allows some light to pass through it.
The base is carved in wood and finished with natural italian natural oil.
The supporting 'stem' is finished off with black jeweller waxed string.
Diameters of the gourd are 20 and 22cm, and lamp is 39,5 cm high.

Whats the inspiration tho? do you just make it out of nothing? cause its just so complex o.o its beautiful :D

Big inspirations for me are fractals. Sometimes ideas just came and sometimes I have to wait quite long. In this case for example I start to drawing pattern when I was still working with Lamp XI. I had about half and then didn't know what next ;-) So I just left it and thinking or just do other things. So usually it's quite long pricess to make all pattern. But it's different with every lamp. And I like this unpredictability :-)

Thats interesting, thats exactly what i'm studying in my career right now <,<... apparently its the next big movement in architecture... yeah i know.. lamps = arch its a stretch but IŽve been working with a lot unpredictable patterns :p ... its so damn hard, it usually involves using computer programs <,<... I know how hard it can be to come up with anything that is as complex as your designs x3

I saw Your gallery and I know what you mean :-) That's true. I was also thinking about using some computers program during making pattern of my lamps. In one of them - Hanging III I had to use AutoCad to set the possition of pattern to have the best fit.
But it wasnt easy becouse it was 2D work that had to be made on a sphere. It was funny but it works :-)

BTW I know i spoke of unpredictability in designs and you said you took a look at my gallery well.. i haven't uploaded the new research i did, but soon i will.. iŽll hit you with a note :p
